#1 - What bothers me about this icon is that the word "cursed" is really hard to read. The red dot and the line of Giles's shoulder look like they're part of the word. I'm usually a big fan of hard-to-read text, if there's a reason for it (like the text being behind the subject, or intentionally small). In this case, the text is large and front-and-center, and it being hard to read kind of defeats the placement.

1 - The icon is very sharp and saturated, and the contrast seems too high, as I can't see any difference between the subject and the background. Also not sure what the red text says (although I don't mind its placement).

#3 - The colours are nice, but the background looks unbalanced with nothing going on in the left side of the icon. The dark part of the background blends in with Giles' hair and seems to give his head a strange shape. I think the icon would have looked better with a different background, possibly just a plain one.
