The window slammed shut, seemingly of it's own accord, seals were strengthened, shields locked firmly in place and any insect infesting this quaint little rented room was promptly annihilated. A beast is a beast and even the tiniest of them couldn't escape the Greater Beast's eye if she so chose.
"Why, Miss Lina, if you were anyone else I'd think you were taunting me!" He finally met her eye to eye, peeking out at her from the shadows of his hair. "Name your price."

This was also the closest thing to a 'moral conundrum' that he has ever come up against. It's not that he didn't want freedom, Gav had put that thought in his mind ages ago. If he'd ever wanted anything for himself before it was freedom. Anything he'd ever considered his has always been taken from him by Mother Dearest. She let out an involuntary shudder. Lina was fearless, not stupid. She may have defeated Zelas's boss but that didn't make her any easier to contend with. She knew damn well that without Xellos's full support she'd never be able to do it. And if it had been for any other purpose she'd have doubted his support severely ( ... )
