I loved Atlanta Fulton County Stadium...until it was plowed over for the Atlanta Olympics. I was there to see both the Turner Stadium be up, and part of the last season (when the Braves were world champs). Sigh. There was a lot to it, the area of town wasn't where you'd expect, but decent enough. The history was great too, some wonderful players called it home like Hank Aaron for one. Atlanta is a beautiful city. I loved seeing the civil war graveyards, zoo, and Underground Atlanta was very cool.
Yeah, NY is losing both of its stadiums this year for new construction which I'm sure won't be as good and certainly not as affordable to the average fan.
Thanks for the ideas about what to do in the Atlanta area. I'm going to pursue those further.
Well, DH (Man who has done everything) was an usher AND an ambulance driver at Dodger Stadium. He said that it's a beautiful stadium. And I bet he has some interesting stories. I sadly have not been to any Chicago ball fields (but DH has). I still love Crosley field in Cincinnati. http://www.ballparksofbaseball.com/past/CrosleyField.htm My mom caught a foul ball off George Foster... right after my brother went to the bathroom saying, "If you catch a ball, it's mine." My Dad didn't believe her.
