I read it in about 7 hours and it was great. I'm not sad the series ended, because she did everything that she needed to do. Just a fantastic read. I'm going to do an in-depth review later on... I don't know if I can keep it spoiler-free though. We'll have to see.

I really want to see Hairspray! It looks epic.

Is it too late for me to donate money for your Memory Ride? I had the intention of doing so (my dad works with Alzheimers patients and my grandmother suffers from dementia, so it's a very real issue for me) but just ended up being really lame and forgetting. I'll mail you a check if it's not too late for you to get credit for collecting the money, but if it is, I still want to make a donation to the organization. I'm just sorry I dropped the ball on this.

Boo. We suck at talking to each other, which is mainly my fault. I should be writing you letters and things, but no....... I'm super lame. Let's talk soon! Particularly about Ms. Rowling's masterpiece.

I agree; it wasn't sad ending it because the whole thing was just so marvelously done and wrapped up and yay. If I'd read it straight through it would've taken about five, maybe six hours, but I had some breaks for dinner, Hairspray, and exclaiming excitedly to my mom what was going on (she's never been good at reading long books so she probably won't end up reading them herself).

It is most definitely not too late! Just go to www.memoryride.org, click on "sponsor participant," and search for my name. From there you can either donate online by credit card or print out a donation form to mail in a check or cash. Your support is so very much appreciated!

Argh, yes. My brother and dad haven't read it yet, so I'm dying to discuss it with someone. I spent hours summarizing it to my mom, haha, just to have someone with whom to talk about it. (She was a great audience, oohing and ahhing in all the appropriate places.) And of course I would love to talk to you about life in general but I'm just as awful at communication!

!!!! Deathly Hallows was incredibleee.. i'm an intensely slow reader so i finished late last night after reading pretty much from 1 in the morning on saturday to about 10 that night, then then decided to sleep before i died, then read most of yesterday. i totally loved every moment of this book and agree with everything you said. i cannot wait to go through and read the whole series through, which i will be starting very soon! i was not surprised, in the end, that J.K. Rowling totally blew apart everyone's expectations and theories and gave us the ending to her incredible story that i think was deeper and more beautiful than anyone could have imagined. simply amazing.
