Friday- Today is India's 61st Birthday. Yes India got her Independence on August,15, 1947. I would suggest reading other non-fiction books about India first and then fiction, so that the satire and context would be clearer. You could take up (1) India After Gandhi by Ramchandra Guha and (2) India--A Million Mutinies Now by VS Naipaul
