Once I saw my granny knitting a sock - she had four knitting needles and it looked terribly sophisticated and I can remember her moaning over the heels.:-)
Bagged it! Thanks for the link! It does look the best of several patterns.
Socks aren't hard - if I can do it ANYone can, believe me. My socks are in no way perfect; I'm only on my 9th sock. But as they go into shoes and under slacks, no one sees my mistakes. Eventually I'll get around to ironing out all the imperfections in my knitting, but I'm not now nor ever have been a perfectionist. One does get used to the several needles, plus you could try circular needles. I'm going to learn two-at-a-time socks one of these days.
Oh I can knit socks, I just hate doing it. Mostly knitting relaxes me, puts my mind into Alpha rhythm. The straight part of socks fine, when I start the shaping I can feel my nerves tightening like an over wound watch spring.
