Public Post - Add Me, grown-up addition

Feb 23, 2010 11:33

Public post so you can link it around!

Since so many of us are a bit disgruntled with the lack of lj participation lately... how about if we all do a short introduction?

I'll start. Just about everyone on my list is pretty open-minded...

People who post relatively often, who I think wouldn't mind having a few more lj friends:

I'm open to having new folks, but I never know how to introduce myself, so if you'd like to add me to your list in the post, feel free.

(or anyone who reads this comment who knows me, if you want to say a few words, that'd be awesome)

Done! Although I'd love to see what others say about you, too...

Will you repost this to your lj?

Done! ;-)

I actually wasn't expecting to get friends out of this... I just saw literally 3 people on my friends list talk about how dead lj is, and how they want new friends. This is just a bonus for me!! :D

I would like to play. :)

I'm a 30 y/o environmental scientist and single mother of three boys living in the southeastern U.S. I post fairly often (averaging 1.222221 times a day), and my content is pretty random. You may find a) witty observations on life, b) my newest viral musical obsession, c) an entry about sorting socks, d) an in-depth dissection of American Southern Baptist politics, e) a stressed out mom on the verge of shipping all 3 children to Africa, or f) aliens that disregard their plans for human annihilation when they fall in love with bluegrass music (hopefully a fictional account).

If any of these things interest you, please feel free to skip over to my journal and check me out. I don't bite...hard.

You are on the list above, want to be friends? :) I never added you because I wasn't sure if you were looking for new friends or not.

Sure! You have to go read all 7000 entries, though. haha

I'll add ya.

Ok, I'll introduce myself here in the comments. I wasn't really considering that I might also gain lj friends out of this... just saw a need and decided to playfully meet it.

I will do an intro post later...

I typically post about what my hubby and I do, how I feel about the things that go on in my life... the good changes I'm making... jewelry/beads... an organization I volunteer with a lot... life in general... sometimes photos (jewelry photos, people photos, kitty/doggie photos)... I'm fairly open in my lj - ask me a question and I'll answer it. What you see is what you get.

I'm also a very positive person and very proactive about making my life continuously better. Sometimes it takes me a little while to process something, but I aim to learn something from everything that happens.

Meandered over via ayoub.

I'm an artist/jewelry designer in her 30s who just moved to Pasadena, CA and is looking for new people to talk to (and advice on the area, if anyone has it!) :)

Jewelry designer! What type? Have a shop?

Ok, I remember now. You're on popfiend's list, right? You were talking about banding together for an Etsy team, yes?

I like your jewelry. Very, very different from what I design, but really cool! I dig the look of steampunk, which seems to be very in right now, but I don't think I could pull it off (wearing or designing it, that is).

Yes, that's me. :)

Thanks! Steampunk isn't for everyone, yeah. I dabble in all kinds of designs; I can't seem to settle on just one. That's how I ended up with multiple stores.
