Microwaveable frozen meals may be one of my favourite modern technological advances. Five minutes to a single serving of shepherd's pie? Sign me up! Frozen instant food is not as good as fresh, in general, but some of it is pretty decent, and it sure as heck beats cooking when I'm stressing out over assignments and such

There's the typical peeling plastic off of everything but the corn. Yeah, fine, been there, done that. Poking holes in the plastic (although there's no way it's 100% attached anymore so that's kind of a moot point), okay. But this is where it gets me: after 3:30 on high, you have to take it out and remove the brownie before cooking another 1:30. Now, even putting aside the obviously horrendous amounts of extra work that this entails, it also means that you're sitting there for over a minute with a piping hot brownie sitting in front of you while everything else is still warming up. Let the battle of self-control vs hunger commence! Oh, the cruelty...
