Elephant (Kirk/McCoy, PG-13)

Dec 20, 2009 18:02

Because 1297 is running a weekend meme, and because I'm still stuck at home and not on vacation because of the snow, and because I can't believe no one took the Kirk/McCoy prompt...I grabbed this off my hard drive, dusted it off, and hastily finished it. If you gag at the end, remember, the prompt was "nice."

Thank you so much, and for your "everybody into the pool!" invitation. There's nothing like an instant deadline to lower your barriers about schmoop.

Killer last line. *sighs*

I'm full of alcoholic gumballs too and this was just what I needed to keep the feeling going long after I stopped drinking. Your fic is less damaging to the liver! ;D

This was gorgeous and I loved the exploration of the idea of not thinking about something makes you think about it. Another of my pet subjects.

Now, don't you go thinking about about those two in a 69 position. Promise?

What a fine recommendation for slash that is: "Less like to cause cirrhosis."

The don't-think-of-an-elephant thing is trufax; the New York Times says so.

Guess what I'm thinking of right now.

Guess what I'm thinking of right now.

Hmm...there are three possiblities here:

1. an elephant
2. Jim and Bones in a 69
3. two elephants in a 69

:D

I want to embroider this on a blanket and wrap myself in it. What a gorgeously delineated moment.

You always pay the loveliest comments--I can never think of more eloquent things to say than "I liked it" :(

This is the kind of evening for a blanket, embroidered or not. Brrr.

This is adorable! Of course Kirk would wind up engaged to a planet. And I hope there is lots of zak-twe exchanged once they get back to the ship. ;)

I do think the best way to get Kirk to want something is to tell him he can't have it. And too bad the planet he's engaged to isn't Earth :( Thank you so much for the kind and funny comment!

Mmmm. *smiles and snuggles up to this fic* I love the thought of Kirk getting engaged to a planet, LOL. And you write their dialogue so well. :-)

There was something a little Stargate-ish about this fic, I think. I do not believe we have mined all the possibilities of AMTD and fertility rituals. Hmm.

Glad you liked the dialogue! I don't know about you, but I find it much easier to write than that in-between stuff.

Hee. I can't write a darn thing when it comes to fiction, so I admire anyone who can write dialogue or anything else. :-P

Thank goodness for readers (and commenters), without whom we would go insane.

But I bet you can too write--anyone who reads can. We'll have to see if we can't lure you in...a little anon something on the kink_meme perhaps...
