Self-centered comment: hey, now I know how Jim caught up with Chris Pike in my "Until The Stars Are All Alight"! (I love the vital clue of McCoy thinking that 'Ty' is around his age.)
Story-centered comment: “Okay.” Ty picks up the now-empty shot glass, flips it over, and squints down at it, as if looking through a jeweler’s loupe. “You’re going to meet a handsome stranger. You'll avoid throwing up on him and offer him a drink. You'll say crazy things to him but he’ll like you anyway.” made me squeak, and It’s not the first time Jim has wrapped the universe up, handed it to him, and said, Do you like it? made me shriek, both with delight. I love the way this tale unfolded.
You-centered comment: I want my McCoy-voice to grow up to be yours. Oh, how I adore how you write.
Would you believe I've never read that gorgeous story of yours? Great minds think alike (or steal from the same sources :)
When I can leave aside all the paradoxes of time travel, I love the idea of interacting with someone who knows how you're going to turn out. Parents can have that far-sightedness, and it's always slightly eerie when they say "I always said you were going to do X, and I was right."
Thank you, as always, for your insight and general adorableness.
