Roman Elegy (Kirk/McCoy, NC-17) Happy Birthday, sangueuk!

Mar 23, 2010 13:13

To sangueuk , the brilliant and beautiful, a wonderful birthday and hopes for many more and better. As a friend of mine once said, "You're never really old, as long as you have a mental age of 12" (although in your case we better make it 18 so it's legal in all states ;) ).

A humble offering, neither as good or as smutty as you deserve, but with at least ( Read more... )

*sighs happily*

That was gorgeous! I could almost smell Rome! I've never been to Italy and now I have more reasons to want to go!

Beautifully done! So them even when on shore leave. I love seeing Jim through Bones' eyes. It's obvious he loves his man and that's just the best thing!

Lovely!

It's been so many years, I've forgotten what Rome smells like :(

Yes, I think Bones is an observer--he would notice all the little things about Jim, maybe even fixate on them a bit, even when Jim is annoying the hell out of him.

Very nicely done, lindmere. I love it when Bones is the one showing his impulsive, naughty side. Mind you, in Kirk he has ample inspiration. ;o)

Thank you, sweetie! You're always such a wonderful cheering section. I wish I could photocopy a Kirk and send him to you :)

God this is beautiful. And maybe it's the mood I'm in, but it reads as a little bit sad to me. I mean it's lovely, and sweet, and all that, but there's an undercurrent of melancholy to it. Almost like nostalgia - kind of a bittersweet feeling. I'm probably insane, so I'll shut up now. But it's a wonderful story and so evocative and full of feeling and meaning and detail. You're amazing.

Thank you as always for your lovely comments, my dear!

Melancholy--yes, I think so. I always feel that way a bit when I'm in a beautiful place because I know it won't last forever. In the same way, I imagine Jim and Bones are always having to move on, before they've really had time to appreciate where they are or resolved anything.

Love it. Love this Jim, love this Leonard, but especially love your writing: love this show-don't-tell and how you let their actions and words speak for them, how you had their thoughts speak in layers.

Leonard breathed it in, and felt revived; looked at the stars overhead, and wondered why they looked so beautiful, when he stared at them every day.

And I so totally have a penchant for putting my hand in people's back pockets, lol, so uh that was the hottest part for me. XB

Well done, my friend. ♥

OMG a comment from you, hurray! So glad you enjoyed it!

I swear these two are getting to be like wearing an old coat. Probably should switch to, dunno, Pike/Winona or something for variety.

The hands-in-pockets thing is stereotyped as sort of high school, but I love it too, especially when the pockets in question encase a nice ass :)

 I am a pretty shitty reader and commenter, aren't I? I'm sorry. :(

HEY I LIKE THIS OLD COAT. :clings:

Pffft wellll I never got to do it in high school, so I declare it allowable.

Not a criticism just an observation bb! So glad to have you here.

I am the Worst Reader Ever. I used to think I was a fast reader but I get through maybe 4-6 fics a week if I'm lucky. The rest of the planet comments within a few hours of a fic going up. I do not know what my problem is (short attention span, probably).
