Oh, I like this. You translated their personalities perfectly into this different world: Kirk's cheery optimism and McCoy's careful skepticism. I loved that the story was so full of possibilities at the end, I like it when things don't end so pat and clean-cut.
I'm so glad you liked it, since your wonderful modern AUs are one of the things that influenced my subconscious to want to do it. I hope you have more in the works!
I have mixed feelings about stories that do that--it makes me a little mad at the author, but at the same time it's fun to continue it in my head. I'm so glad you felt the same way--thanks so much for the delightful comment.
