You have no idea how surprised and excited I was to see this come up on my flist! I have frequently reread the other two stories and adore them. This newest installment did not disappoint

What a wonderfully kind comment--thank you! I hope you know that the appreciation is more than mutual ;)
I quite agree on Jim's need for distance; he's cut himself off from his past and in general that works okay, except he's stuck in that teenaged resentment rut and has probably interfered with him having close relationships. Lucky for him, Bones is not someone easily deterred by complex family situations.
I just hope I got Iowa right! I've never been there, but I do know it's flat as a board and Google let me "travel" the roads (excellent resource but time consuming). Thank you again so much!
I loved this. So glad you're continueing their story, and I would really like to read more. I agree with the comment above, about them not quite figuring out how they fit together. Len's invititation to Georgia ia a big step, as was Jim's opening up about his past...but I want more! This is such a complex, fully formed universe. More would be awesome!
Wonderful, wonderful addition to your 'verse! I so enjoyed the progression of feelings Bones has had and the glimpse into Jim's childhood and his family dynamics. The feel you give to your stories, complicated but with a gentle delivery, makes it such a joy to read them.
I was so hoping that Jim would end up in Georgia with Bones and Jo!
I toyed with the idea of Leonard going alone and saying "next year" (because his first responsibility is to Jo) but the idea of him turning the tables on Jim and shocking him with his spontaneity was irresistible. Glad you enjoyed it!
So sorry it's taken me so long to sit down and read this! I love this whole series and hope the muses inspire you to re-visit them once again, but if not this was a fitting capstone

And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply! And I'm glad you liked Sam--it seemed right that the guy who, in TOS, goes off to Deneva and starts a family would be the one to move on, though I think it's often the case with older children that they escape early and the ones that left behind are resentful.
Thanks you as always for your support, my lovely friend!
