The world came swimming back to Sherlock extremely slowly and with notable reluctance. He could hear the sounds of another person breathing and pacing, the noise pounding into his brain with almost as much force as the original blow. ( Read more... )

OK, that was ROUGH. What an utter bastard. I agree with Sherlock - Mycroft should come rescue him, although John would certainly not think badly of him for not escaping from being handcuffed to the wall.

I'm reasonably sure Sherlock doesn't get shot and killed, or there wouldn't be any future chapters... SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW???

Well... it could be future chapters from John's perspective after finding Sherlock's body and catching the killer. You never know.

And you left it like this? Where is John, dammit? And where *is* Mycroft... his 'concern' would be lovely right about now - can't think of a nicer payback for Trevor!!!!

Don't worry... next chapter now up!! I felt so guilty cos I had a 24 hour knitting marathon for comic relief and then a few hours at my sister's house so I haven't been able to write for like two days. I felt awful. In my head Sherlock was kind of stuck waiting for the bullet to hit for like two days!!

This is why Mycroft worries about Sherlock... constantly.

Pretty much. And also the reason why Sherlock's always been so resentful.

Yes the clue to their relationship is the resentment! Because Sherlock looked up to him and expected perfection, expected super human big brother. Being Sherlock he isn't good at disappointment aka reality. But the horror of what he has been through is amazing. But I really find it fascinating that Mycroft is more like a parent than a brother most times. The redemption chapter was such a relief to read! I'm glad Sherlock shared his breakthrough with Mycroft it will help both of them, especially since John is a witness too. Can't wait for more!

I love your description of Mycroft in all of this, and especially in this chapter. Noncon has always been hard for me, but this wasn't as traumatising as the other story I'm following (and no, not traumatising because of graphic description or something like that, but because of the characters), and I'm grateful for that, but Sherlock wishing for his brother just makes right up for that. I cried so much.
And, please let it be John to the rescue, please let it be John to the rescue. Mostly because I don't want there to be something John has done, so it wouldn't be so painful when he had to think back and realise there was completely nothing he could do.
Much ♥ for you
