Too Close to Holmes 15/15 - Epilogue: On The Road

Jun 25, 2011 23:02

John woke up slowly, turning his head to place a soft kiss to the top of Sherlock’s head.  It had been a month since the trial, and, while things were a long way from perfect, Sherlock was slowly starting to recover.  There were still nights - far too many nights - when John would be woken by his partner’s thrashing and crying through a nightmare, ( Read more... )

Excellent story overall. Thank you for finishing it and, moreover, for sharing it!

My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm so relieved I finished it. All too often I'll get a great idea, start the fic, and then real life will take over and the inspiration will just die.

That last paragraph suddenly put tears in my eyes...

I've lurked until now, just keeping updated as this went. It's very well written... Morbid curiosity lead me here, and I feel terrible to say that I've enjoyed following this story. Obviously not enjoyed Sherlock's pain, but you know what I mean :)

I do know what you mean. I love fics where the characters really suffer, because I love to see them come out the other side.

Really glad you enjoyed the fic. xx

Haha, yeah!
Although, I think I really just like to see the characters suffer, too X_X
And I love me some good h/c where things don't end entirely optimistic, but you know they've got someone.
Ugh. Just... Such a sucker for h/c, especially when it involves Sherlock breaking in some way... Showing his more human, emotional side.

Very good story! I liked the warm relations between family members, particularly аз Mycroft and Sherlock spoke to each other after the rescue of Sherlock. Good and correct attitude towards the victim is always so difficult for family members who really are invisible victims. And in general I liked the relationship between the characters, and Anderson and Donovan is an unexpected and pleasant bonus. Usually they show a comedic or spiteful way. And here they are just people, real people and it's great. Storyline - serial rape with numbers carved on the back is fantastic, very interesting. I really, really liked it!

Victor Trevor is a rapist? Wow.

So glad you liked it. I obviously like the occasional fic where Anderson and Donovan are gits, but I prefer it where we're reminded that they're people. I see their relationship with Sherlock as slightly sibling-like. Like he's a freak, but he's THEIR freak!

Omg, sorry to butt in but YES! THIS SO MUCH!
I mean, I see Sally and Sherlock's bickering as almost routine, and a little bit fun. Sally can't stand him, but she kinda enjoys trying to piss him off, and Sherlock just enjoys bouncing back off her and firing insults and revealing her personal life. It's ALMOST flirty, but there's genuine dislike on Sally's side, because, let's face it, he comes in and does her job for her and acts like a tosser while he does it. And Anderson... God, I think they both loathe each other, which is fantastic because no one really gets under Sherlock's skin like that, and that makes Anderson fascinating to me... And I do think that, as much as they hate each other, they'd defend each other against outsiders.. Because yeah... He's THEIR freak.
