So, Chris ended up using the Kohl's gift card because they had a sale on the t-shirts and boxers he wears. Whatever. At least it got used. I did tactfully let my mom know that I hate Kohl's so that she won't get me any more gift cards there. In exchange, Chris bought me GROWN UP FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS! Two boxes of them! From Costco! And another collapsible colander. And really nice stainless steel measuring cups.
I might forgive the additional $50 he still owes me because he also let me convince him that I need an iPad. And within about ten seconds of him giving me the okay, I had my coat on and was out the door to hunt one down at Target. (Because instant gratification was worth having to pay tax.) And I love it so very much! It will be perfect for my Stella & Dot trunk shows and for travel!
And while we were at Target, we ran across a bunch of jute table runners in the clearance section. Basically they're exactly the style that we've been looking at for our reception. Not quite as long, but these had bonus gold thread running through them. And they were marked down 70%, which meant we could buy them for less than half the cost of renting them. SOLD. (And probably re-sold when we're done with them. Ha.) I'm pretty excited. That was our first wedding purchase aside from the down payment on the venue. Now I just need to come up with about a hundred and fifty doilies and I'll get to work on the DIY lace runners I want to put on top of the jute. Goodwill better watch out.
