My best friend and aunt have been undergoing laser hair removal treatments and they both LOVE it. So. In a fit of "I shouldn't have to wax my lady-stache once every couple weeks just because my vitamins make my hair -- ALL my hair -- grow really quickly!" rage, I scheduled a consultation with a really highly recommended clinic not far from my house (and, for those playing along at home, literally on the same block as Prince's famed Paisley Park Studios). Apparently my pale skin and dark hair makes me pretty much the perfect candidate for laser hair removal and since they -- psst, hey kid -- offer the first treatment for free at this place, I pretty much had to give it a shot. Also, the technician was incredibly knowledgeable and I just really felt comfortable with her. So much so, in fact, that I totally dropped trou within fifteen minutes of meeting her to discuss possibly treating my bikini line in the future.
ANYWAY. Definitely not the most comfortable experience in the world, but no worse than waxing. If I only have to do this six times (at least to start -- I realize there's the possibility that I'll require touch ups as time goes on) I'm definitely down for it. And I think long term it will probably save me money. Assuming it works, anyway. She said I should notice a difference in about two to three weeks. AND I'M SO EXCITED! I even went out and bought a Groupon with another place that uses the same laser to treat my under arms. I'd prefer to leave my face (and potentially my crotch) to a pro, but I'm okay giving my pits to someone else for about a quarter of the price.
Some people are into tattoos. What if I start to feel the same way about laser hair removal? I suppose I'll be a hairless wonder by the time I hit 40.
