mySpace is a publically viewable, nonsecure website
so it is not an invasion of your rights or any other govt protected things
I dont agree with it
but from a legal standpoint
nothing wrong with it

neither do I. Seems kinda like a far-out way to go about things.

Actually, it's more like they're overhearing you talking to a friend in the same room. Tapping the phones is an invasion of privacy, since it is assumed that the conversation is two-way (occassionally 3-way) and not shouted out for everyone to hear.

MySpace is essentially a messageboard. Hell, LiveJournal's a messageboard too. And a public messageboard. Any old joe can just go and read what you posted on these things. Everyone can hear your voice if they feel like listening on these boards (or even if they don't).

Personally, I don't think they'll be doing much with this. I'm positive a lot of students will react negatively to this and claim violation of privacy, but that's just because they feel like the Man is coming down on them. And if you think about it, there are how many LJ users and MySpace users in the Merrimack school district?

You want my opinion? Don't worry about it.
