Everyone is doing these 2009 wrap-up posts.

I'm not sure what to say about 2009, exactly. It changed nearly every aspect of my life.

- I met someone amazing people, and grew apart from amazing people.
- I discovered that despite what I thought about myself, I actually had/have no idea who I am.
- I was introduced to some amazing music that held me close at night when I had nothing else but silence.
- I finally stopped wearing so much makeup.
- I turned twenty-one.
- I honed in on my one true love: writing.
- I finally admitted that to myself that just because I love writing doesn't mean English is a good major. (I'm going to leave this typo in because it's hilariously ironic that I make a typo in the sentence where I assess being an English major isn't a good choice for me.)
- I discovered that I love to just listen to people, and helping them helps my own broken heart. So, I decided on counseling.
- I moved out of my house and forged a life that is entirely my own.
- I embraced the side of me that's totally messy, hates dressing up and wears flip flops and sneakers. And 100% cotton.
- I lost my father. We share a name that's gone back in my family since before the Civil War, and I hope I can make him and all those generations proud.
- Most relevantly to my LJ life, I wrote a story called Two Thousand Eight that changed my life. It brought me to amazing people who brighten and fulfill my life. It helped me gain confidence and practice in doing what I love: writing. It showed me that it doesn't matter how many times you hear something positive, it still brightens your heart.

I hope everyone has a great holiday season and new year. I hope your 2010 and beyond brings you happiness and love you could have never imagined.

- Lindsey
