after 12 years of thinking it was going to happen, I think it will really happen this time. my grandfather has pneumonia, and he's going to die. I know that anyone who comments will tell me they're sorry. honestly though, when you've been expecting it to happen for 12 years, it's honestly not that big a thing, I learned to properly distance myself no more than 3 weeks after they told him he had six months or less, or somewhere around 11 and a half years ago. so that being said, i'm not sure why i'm posting anything about this in my lj, because i'm not really that sad, and I don't expect any of you to read it, or think i'm important anyway. I guess I haven't posted anything in a while though, so we can start with that.
http://www.myspace.com/salmonbeastman last weekend, s;b did a weekend with indrid, two nights with ozenza, and two with the nain rouge. I had fun. I love playing with bands i'm friends with. I love that luke got to club soda (from jail)just as we were playing anyway, and I was totally pumped for nine seconds or so as he bum rushed the stage. I love that the wasted dude thought I was steve vai or something, because he kept begging for me to play a rippin solo. I attempted to accomodate his request, but fell flat on my face, in the metaphorical sense. anyhow, the more popular metal and hardcore gets, the more I want to write poetry about roses, play trippy keyboards, spend my life in a library, where fun isn't allowed, or give other dudes handjobs(and let them shoot it in my face). got told by a dude on sunday "I like your band, it's a change of pace from everything". we play rock and roll music. when they say "this isn't your fathers rock and roll", that doesn't apply to us, we do the same boring rock and roll shit that's been around since the damned beatles. how's that different? what happened to david bowie, the cars, peter gabriel, thin lizzy, jethro tull, the rolling stones, etc... music that meant something? nowadays it's shitty if it doesn't have a hotspot for a two-step, and you're not a music lover if you aren't at least a third degree black belt, or are too fat to fit into a size negative 14 girls pants. I guess what i'm saying is I have a lot of fun playing with bands, no matter what their style, but most hardcore bands seem to understand more than 'heavier than grandma', it's hardcore fans who need to get rid of the "if it's not metal, it's not worth it" attitude. I wish someone would bring a battle axe with them into the dance pit, and cut some heads off with those sweet moves. music isn't about testosterone, it's about music. i'm gonna go look at gay porn now.
willow was rad-ular, those kids got style.
hi.
