When you tell someone something in confidence is it too much to ask that they keep it just betweeen the two of you, even if it is something that bothers the other person ( Read more... )

If you ask a friend to keep something between the two of you, only a shitty friend wouldn't. Hell, Greg didn't even tell me about seeing you in Toronto until everything was out in the open.

I gotta disagree here. If your secret bothers the person, you've probably done something wrong, and that person did the right thing by telling the other party (parties) involved.

Secrets don't make friends.

well, the secret had nothing to do with the person I divulged it to or the person who was told without my knowledge.....and it wasn't so much as a secret but more of an instance of beng open and honest about certain situations....its complicated......

however, I am still hurt because my trust in this person, my confidence in this person has waivered slightly because of this...

Well, if the person who was told had nothing to do with the situation, then you're right. They had no right sharing that information.
