It's clearly a case of overly sensitive - PC types having a knee-jerk reaction to a harmless bit of old-timey doggerel taken out of context. For when Obama asked us to "recall earlier generations," he was not only imploring us to remember their sacrifices and accomplishments that enable us to be here today, but also the matter-of-fact way they overcame racism by incorporating it into their everyday speech, legal documents and pastimes.

Pastimes like this 1935 gem by the Hudson Bros. Publishing Company. As with the Jim Crow laws that were designed to spare African-Americans from having to be in the same rooms, restaurants, hospitals as racist white people, games like this were obviously intended to provide an warning flag to blacks that any whites playing this game were obviously uncultured bastards and they should be avoided at all costs.
