Someone PLEASE figure out how to stop companies from using internet memes for their advertising campaigns.

Yeah, the problem there is that internet memes basically are viral marketing, except they aren't selling anything. Tapping into them is basically the obvious low-hanging fruit: the reward is obvious, and the risk is minimal since most of those memes are already well-integrated, especially the stupider, more popular Youtube memes like RETARDO BLACK SINGING FRIDAY.

The only way to make companies not use internet memes as advertising is basically to not have internet memes, or make all of them viral advertising from the getgo (see: Billy Mays infomercials, Will It Blend videos)
