This week I started doing some little studies to get me loosened up and keep me moving on the big painting (which is nearly, nearly, nearly finished). They've also been nice in that they help me use up the paint that's left on the palette after my day's work. These are wonderful! I especially love the last one--those colors really sing to me. Plus, all the pieces remind me of totems or spirit bags or something ritualistic put together by a shaman with OCD.

Thanks! It's nice to hear they're liked. They feel really ritualistic to me, too. I made some of these weavings physically, from trash / organic detritus I found walking between home and school...very meditative and engaging to put together (though a little nasty, sometimes). And OCD is a good way to put it.

Thanks. That one is the tightest-worked one. I go back and forth between it and the third one...though I like the fourth one too. The fourth one is the result of a linoleum cut (you can see it in the black ink), so there will be a lot more with that basic form as the base.
