GPS / Geotagging

I wish to start Geotagging my photos but could do with some guidance. I used to do it manually but just don't have the time/motivation to do that on a regular basis ( Read more... )

Off the top of my head could you do this with a bottom-of-the-line car sat-nav?

Good luck with the search I'd be keen to know how it turns out. Have been having similar thoughts myself.

Yeah, I suspect a car sat-nav might but I know there are some more specific bits of kit out there. My car sat-nav won't export data (or do journey logging), plus it will only work when you are on the road network, which is bugger all use really.

My mum has a pedometer which apparently tracks your journey so I may borrow it off her and see if that will do it, although it doesn't do any navigation.

I'd love one which does an ongoing journey track which you can 'bookmark' positions on and use it to navigate back to them again. I have no idea if that's something that exists.

There are a few phones with GPS built in that may do the job. HTC make a lot (re-branded but available on most UK networks) and i think Nokia do one too.

Ooh, good plan. Anything that minimises the amount of kit I carry around is a good thing.

The HTC's are probably the best choise as they run windows. It would probably be easier to link it up.
