Finally some checks and balances.

I guess running on huge deficits, Wild spending, Socializing as much as possible, raising taxes, creating inflation, doing little to create long term jobs, tuning out the people who elected you, and marketing it as "Helping/taking care of people" just isn't cutting it anymore ( Read more... )

I and many others will never understand the concept that "the gov't is here to take care of me"

Heads of financial corporations fully understand that, and under Republican control they get what they're after.

The difference between Republican and Democrats is that Republicans only want to help out the corporations...the Democrats at least give lip service to helping out the populace.

They bailed them out to help the employees not to save an employer. They were just too big to let fall. While I can't prove intentions, they also bailed out the car companies to gain control of an industry.

These things have not actually happened at all over the last few years.

Depends on whether or not they're going to vote to let the Bush taxes sunset. Deciding to hold the vote AFTER the elections was the most stupid, ignorant thing the Dems could have done. Ditto on the DADT/DOMA repealing. Whoever the fuck played those chips needs to be shot.

Right, but as campaign costs have skyrocketed, so have the contributions and kick-backs. With this, so has the influence of the rich. With this, the interests of the rich get pandered to, and the government stops actually caring about how to make a functioning government, rather how to make a government which will allow them to get re-elected TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

I think that we need to change the campaign system and actually set financial limits on campaign spending (if not completely finance them from the government). And, also, prohibit outside groups from funding advertising for or against a candidate.
