They took a year to consummate the marriage! I'm glad you didn't include any of the draconian "verification" spells that so many of the MLCs use.

As for Trelawney, as much as I've always appreciated Emma Thompson's understated elegance that character is batshit insane. I love that she's a fate worse than Granger. :P

I neatly sidestepped the verification spell question by having them marry to avoid the law, because I didn't want to deal with that whole issue. Trelawney makes a fun "villain", doesn't she (though I also adore Emma!).

Hmmm... why is it I have a feeling that Hermione wants the sex part as much as Severus does, but she is trying to convince him that they really need to do this so the ministry won't dissolve their marriage. ;)

Hehehe -- I wouldn't be surprised. This is the first longer fic I've ever written totally from Severus's POV, so I guess we'll just have to wonder :)

This line - And if he made it really good for her, maybe she would want to keep doing it! - made me giggle loud enough to wake the dog.

Hehehe -- in some ways, he's a typical guy, right? ;) Glad you enjoyed it :)

"No time like the present. Let's go." She was starting to look irritated, so Severus decided a wise man would shut his mouth and go.

Yes, because having her grow even more irritated right before sex wouldn't be too smart.

Oh, if all those miserable people find out that Trelawney's been pulling the strings, they're liable to string her up. ;)

~off to the next chapter~

LOL, yep, he at least seems to realize when it's time to shut his mouth. :) As for Trelawney, she really is delusional, thinking she'll get away with this forever. Thanks for the comments. :)

Why had he never realized how good she was at arguing people into corners?

No doubt he's paying much more attention to her these days!

So it's Trelawney, that old fraud! Who's death has she foreseen now? I have to agree that just about anyone would be an improvement over her. Apparently she's perfectly content with wrecking everyone else's love life in a vain attempt to improve her own. Severus barely escaped!

~Heads off to chapter 3.~

LOL, Hermione is not someone to be taken lightly, as Severus has discovered (of course, if she were, he would have no respect for her, would he?). Trelawney is a delusional idiot -- which IMO fits with canon very nicely! ;)
