Besides the seizures, smart aleck. And the panic attacks. And the depression, and the side effects from the medications for the above... okay, there's several things wrong with me

Maybe it's just that you're out of practice. Getting to know someone and becoming friends takes a lot of effort on both sides, and it's easier if you are used to doing it.
This is why we have therapists! To help us understand ourselves, because I live with me every day and tend to lose perspective. Ask Dr. Jaffee!
I don't have the exact same problem, but it takes me ages to feel comfortable with people. I was in classes with the same 20 people for 2 years (4 semesters), and there are still only one or two that I consider actual friends, only 4-5 that I want to keep in touch with. I don't dislike them, I just don't feel friendish. I only have one friend in Australia (other than Mark), that being April (who is one of those unnaturally friendly sorts that are nice because they always call first :P). I like my classmates and I think I could be friends with them in time, but I don't have enough time, so it probably won't happen

Aha! So that's why you dove right back into that Star Trek book when I met you in junior high.
Well, you know you do it. That's a start.
The best way to do something you know you want to do but can't do... is to do it. Terrible advice. Maybe make yourself a little schedule that you tell yourself you have to keep. "Oh, it's Tuesday at 5. I need to play the game with Josie." Don't let yourself not interact.
