Long Weekends are the best

Dec 28, 2012 22:14

I have officially made it through another Christmas Rush at work and am now very much enjoying a long weekend doing whatever I feel like.  A good part of today was spent sleeping or lying on my couch reading fan fiction.  Eventually, my desire to get back to posting things on here kicked in, so here I am ( Read more... )

Oh, that's super nice that a friend brought you Xmas dinner. What a sweet and thoughtful thing!

Do you have a link to this allegedly beautiful red dress?

I won't get into the Jane Austen stuff with you because we have opposing views ;-)

Yes, it was a very good example of Christian kindness for her to bring me turkey dinner.

I have been known to change my opinion after healthy discussion with my friends. Colin and Jennifer were wonderful at bringing those characters to life (it just didn't match the image I had of them in my head).

Thanks for the link. Very beautiful. I hope some more pics pop up, more full-on, red carpet type pics.

I saw the Colin Firth P&P when I was 19 or 20, and it will just always be my favorite. I've actually never watched the Keira Knightly version because I have issues with messing with what I thought was perfection. ;-)

And the BBC Sense & Sensibility with Dan Stevens is much better than the Emma Thompson version, as all the actors in the ET version are WAY TOO OLD to portray their characters. With the exception of Kate Winslet, who was only about four years older than the character of Marianne, everyone else was at least twenty years too old.

But you know me, I can be too hardcore with my opinions!

You're welcome. I certainly wouldn't object to more HQ pictures of her in China.

I didn't know that BBC did a production of Sense & Sensibility. I'll have to see if I can find it.

I don't know the specific ages of the characters, but do think that Emma looked much older than Kate (who was 19 while filming). For the overall family, though, I did feel that Mrs. Dashwood looked age appropriate for having had 3 daughters and that the 3 actors portraying the daughters looked very much like they were from the same family. I also think that Margaret did look 11 years old. There is a little leeway due to the period it's set in; a 15 year old then would not look like a 15 year old now.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions. I enjoy hearing them whether we agree or not.

I'm so glad you enjoyed dinner, that just makes my heart sing :) and although I am not a christian I didn't want my friend to be without a holiday dinner.
I love the pics and the dress and especially her hair. Geez she always has great hair eh? I hope they have a fantastic time in China and knowing them they will dazzle the fans alike.

Sorry I am not a great Jane Austin fan, I have never gotten into the books or movies, not sure why. hmmm

Great for you to do the big clean up!! Wanna come over and do my place lol I can pay you in turkey soup (btw I have some frozen for you)

It's kind of you to provide dinner for me, no matter what day it is. I've cleaned up the container and have the holiday plate (that your baking was on) to return to you. I'll bring them both on January 17th (when we'll be watching TVD again :)

She is beautiful, and I totally agree about her hair. I went back and looked at the pictures, and that style is definitely one of my favorites on her. She always looks fabulous, IMHO. Apparently, they have left China now and are in Thailand. I hope they're getting a bit of relaxation time before returning to Atlanta.

The major cleaning didn't happen due to back issues (as you know). Turkey soup sounds wonderful, THANKS. You need to convince your hubby to come over to my place one evening for dinner on me. Barring that, I'll have to bring dinner to your place sometime.
