i took a class called senior seminar in HS that was pretty much life skills 101--how to write a resume, how to buy a used car/apartment, how to interview well, how to do laundry...i think a year-long form of that that also encompasses cooking and relationships should be MANDATORY. for every senior, everywhere.
i work in a freshman dorm sometimes, and these kids have not a lick of common sense. *sigh*

My girlfriend's sis moved here about a year ago. It was her first time living by herself. While she's come a long way, some of the things she didn't know how to do... o_O

Cooking (or 'Food Technology') was compulsory at my school for Years 7 & 8. And boys had to do it too.

See, that makes sense to me. Guys need to feed themselves, too!
