I'm going to China!!! I just got an e-mail today saying that I'd been accepted to the program I applied for. I'll be in Beijing at Capital Normal University from August 29th until December 18th. There will be no lettuce and no capoeira (from what other students have told me), which might kill me. But if I survive those serious deficiencies, I ( Read more... )

Yay, congrats!!! And it's a fairly long program too! From what I've heard about fall semester programs, a lot start in late Sept. and go to early Dec. Now... lettuce? What's wrong with the lettuce?

The sun was really shining here too!! It's like we had the same sun. Hehehe.. ;)
Why were you bitter about men? And (LOL) what do they have to do with math?

=) Thanks. I'm happy. That's totally amazing - the same sun! Go figure ;) I was talking with a girl who just got back from Beijing recently and she was saying that they really don't eat raw vegetables and that you really risk digestive problems if you eat anything that you can't peel; unfortunately, I'm quite fond of lettuce and will miss it dearly. *sigh* And men...don't have anything to do with math. There's this guy in capoeira and it gets really complicated really fast; suffice it to say that he was being a total asshole on Friday night, but I don't think it was intentional and maybe things will be ok anyhow, and I'm not sure if it's a good thing if they're ok or not because he should be off-limits for a number of reasons, one of which being that he's quite a bit older than I am and I don't know that I'd tell my parents about him if I got involved...Eek. It's been quite distracting and involved and I'm hoping things will resolve themselves soon (maybe tomorrow!).

Aww, that's terrible, I like lettuce too. Maybe I could send you some... err... if it doesn't get gross right away. I could send it express or something!

Did things resolve?

Yes, things finally resolved (I think, I hope) tonight. Nothing I can't tell my parents about, and I'm happy with the situation; we'll hang out, and we'll flirt, and that's about all. Or that's what it seems like will happen. So it might be just perfect. Except now I'm back to bemoaning the lack of guys in Claremont ;) But at least I'm used to dealing with that =) I'm feeling much happier in all.
