Remember: boys are dumb. Sometimes you need to nudge them in the desired direction. As for being scared - go for it, (wo)man. This is going to sound bad, but the worst that can happen is you won't get what you want, but "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" and all that jazz, and so you will persist in being amazing long after this guy departs from your life (unless you want him to stay, of course).

Also, what's up with the headaches!? Didn't they give you anything to help a little? Damn doctors. Gah-wd. Good luck with that.
