So I went on this snow campout with the young men in my ward. I had never been on a snow campout before and decided that it would be a fun new experience for me so I tried it. Good story. And good pictures. (Neat how you made them scroll past like that)
It's that cold here in Iowa during the winter. The other day it was -6 out and when you'd breathe in through your nose it would freeze on the inside. It's the kind of cold that, even without any snow, makes the car doors freeze shut, which is very annoying.
Next time be sure to take a 'spaceblanket' for your feet. Or buy some 'hand heaters' which are usually sold in sporting goods stores for skiiers. They are activated once you take them out of the package and stay warm for 8 hours.
Were the sleeping bags you guys used tested for subzero temps?
