A man is a fool not to put everything he has, at any given moment, into what he is creating. You're there now doing the thing on paper. You're not killing the goose, you're just producing an egg. The second quote seems to have a very Matt. 10: 39 feel to it.
As for the first quote,
I like it. I like it because though it may seem depressing at first "whatever you work hard for has pretty much the same value as the things that come easy",
it's actually nice to read a quote about how when someone has worked hard for something, they look back and don't remember which is which. That the easy and the hard parts blend together.
That in the end it's the finished work they can appreciate on a whole and not pick out the parts that they struggled through.
