Paid account with ads causing problems

I want to inquire who is best to contact at LJ regarding ads. I have a pop up blocker on my PC and when trying to log in an ad for "The Price is Right - NYS lottery" (listed on LJ itself) was preventing me from logging in. After changing preferences for the ads another ad took it's place and the problem seemed to be resolved. I feel that I shouldn' ( Read more... )

Thankfully I've never had any problems with ads. I wish I could offer up some advice.

"So, your post isn't the kind of post that can go up on no_lj_ads until we have a lot more information that something is actually happening that's LJ ad related.

There's the possibility your friend has been infected with adware that is putting the ads on the pages. Has she done a spyware check?

Also, has she gone and made a Support request about this issue? They might also be able to give advice.

If she has trouble logging in, this Firefox extension might help:

Thanks so much hon for trying to help out. I really appreciate it a lot. I was actually able to get some possible answers from a friend of mine who services computers / networks and he told me that it will sometimes occur when a flash ad appears on older machines with slower processors like mine. I have never had it happen before and I checked for viruses and spyware but it was perfectly clean as of yesterday. The lotto ad was actually embedded into the lj site as a sponsor.
I don't know if anything can be done but I will write support and see if they can advise.
