[For Jill.]

It's maybe not an entirely welcome feeling but it is a familiar one, and Lionel does his best to quash his nervousness as he knocks on Jill's hut. There's only so long he can call someone his friend without letting them know, and fear isn't an excuse to keep from that. It's never been an excuse unless entirely justified (and while they eventually ( Read more... )

Jill smiled, stretching as she held the curtain to one side. "Lionel! Come in, would you?" She shoved a small pile of clothes under her bed with her foot, hoping that he hadn't noticed. "How're you?"

She'd not seen him in a bit, and was actually planning in hunting him down tomorrow - and was glad that he was here instead. "Did you see the horse?" Jill's brow knit for a moment. She wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but she did take care of it, at least.

"There's not a lot of furniture, but would you mind sitting on the ground? I've got pillows." Honestly, her hut was very homey, with a made bed, a small area to keep food and somewhat prepare it, bookshelves made from rocks and driftwood - and clothes neatly folded on another set of shelves. Colorful fabric hung over the hut walls, and was able to be moved to block the windows in case of rain.

"I did, actually," Lionel replies, smiling as he glances around the hut. It really does look much homier than it had before, and he think maybe he'd like to have one of his own someday. "We've got to steal a chair or two from the compound for you, though," he says with a grin, but accepts a pillow anyway.

Jill laughed, and sits crosslegged on another pillow. "It's alright - I like being on the ground. Means if I fall asleep, I can just lay down, I guess?" She smiled, and leaned her chin on her hand. "Are you alright? You usually don't come visiting. I know, though, that I've not been around."

She felt slightly guilty about that, but it'd work out.

"No, it's okay," Lionel says with a bit of a shrug and a smile. "I've been making friends, trying to keep myself busy. I got a new camera during the whole gift day thing, so I'm pretty attached to that. Think I might join the Times, too."

Lionel presses his palms against his folded knees, keeping them from starting up a nervous twitch. "I did want to talk to you about something important, though."
