Oh, LOST. Like Benry said, you are a fickle bitch.
IT'S HELL! NO, IT'S A RESEARCH ISLAND! NO, IT'S PURGATORY! NO, IT'S A GODDAMN CHESS GAME BETWEEN TWO PISSED OFF ROOMMATES!
While last night's episode was good (even though, let's face it, Ricard's story was corny. Nicely corny, but corny as a Bugle ship nonetheless), it didn't offer the answers it promised. What we did learn (besides that Jacob has the ~best metaphors ever) is basically what we've already come to realize over the course of this season: the island is a sort of game between Jacob and Man in Black about good and evil. We know why Richard is immortal, but we don't know what Jacob told him.
And let me say, as I rant on to a captive audience (the interwebs), that I do not like Jacob. I'm sorry, I don't care if MIB is actually Esau/Satan/etc., at least he's not a twistedly moral jerk. Plus, I'm almost positive that Jacob took the form of Richard's dead wife so that he could convince Richard to stay on Team Jacob.
Remember when this show was just about a mysterious hatch and numbers? UGH...
But, this is my show. I've been an avid fan since 2004 (never wavering, much to my personal pride), and it WILL pay off. That, or I'll just cut season six out like people want to cut season four of Battlestar Galactica out.
