This was supposed to be a set of loosely connected ficlets, but then the frame story kind of ran away from me.

I really enjoyed your story and how it went back and forth between present and past. The character voices also rang true. :)

Haha, originally I was actually gonna write a more ambiguous ending, where you couldn't be sure if Dick was actually being rescued, or if Damian's coming was just an allegorical hallucination for dying. But I'm glad I went for the more straightforward happy ending.
