I have been considering it for a long time.... he's heavily blushed ALL OVER HIS FACE, to the point where I can't really dress him or touch it even to reposition his head, for fear of more of the blush rubbing off. I'd like to keep his general look, I think, but I'd be afraid to change him because everyone else seems to like him so much? Is that totally stupid?
No no, I totally understand. It's really frightening even though these are your own dolls how attached other people are to them (I've been having a hard time changing Gabby because how much others love him). I think it's totally possible to have him looking the same without the heavy brushing.
You obviously love him tons. There's bunches of things that you can do to help you get through this tough spot.
I really, really wish I could think of a reason to buy him if he went up for sale. :< I absolutely adore that little grumpy face, I'm sorry you don't like him that much. >_< I don't even know if I could afford him though, having just spent so much in New York.
Gah. ;_; Good luck on whatever you decide, hon.
(Sorry this comment isn't too coherent, I'm still kind of brain-dead from this weekend.)
It's not that I don't like him that much... I'm just frustrated with his size, I think. And I feel bad, because I get the sense that he's lonely, you know?
I guess it's that the Yos can relate to the big guys because little kids attach themselves to adults that way... but teens/pre-teens? Need other teens/pre-teens. ^^;; DOLL PSYCHOLOGY = SERIOUS BUSINESS.
So... either he's gotta become a grown up, so he can relate to them, or he needs another mini around. Siiiiigh.
I wish you could afford him too, I'd love to see what you'd do with him<3
Oh man, it hurts to talk about it... ^^; Anywhere from about $300 to $1200 (normally... limiteds can go for a lot... a lot more, in some cases), depending on their make and how limited they are. Leave it to Japan to create designer dolls that cost as much as three month's worth of rent! (And leave it to crazies like me and my friends to buy them, yikes.)
They definitely look like they cost that much, though. I don't know anything about your gorgeous dolls, but they seem extremely high-quality and totally worth the price!
Heh heh, that's what I said at first too. But slowly, that started to seem less and less expensive as I learned more about them and my longing for one intensified... ;D
(If you're really curious, Den of Angels is a great place to start!)
I think you should try a new face-up for him. :x See if that helps at all~
You made me remember how badly I want a minisized doll. ;A; But I refuse to buy any more because, one, I don't want to make myself broke just yet, and two, I want to be completely satisfied with 'Lexi first, which I'm not. :| As soon as I work on making him into what my head tells me he should be, I'll think about a new one.
Yeah... that might be the best bet. I'm just loathe to have this faceup wiped, since it cost the original owner a small fortune itself, and a lot of people really like it? It's not a very good reason, but... yeah.
Minis are fun, but I seriously think I am more inclined to the bigger guys and the really little guys. I wish I'd had the restraint to be completely satisfied with one of my boys before bringing a bunch of others into the mix! I think that is the way to go.<3
I know how you feel. I have two dolls that I feel the same way about and I am not sure if I should sell them off too. Several friends of mine have told me to box them up for several months and if I don't miss them, I should try to sell them. Not sure if that advise would help you or not?
Aw, really? You have such an awesome crew though... I guess it starts to happen once you have more than a few dolls. The thing is.... Saph already spends a lot of time in his box.... I'm way less likely to take him out to play than I am the big ones or the really little ones. That should probably tell me something, shouldn't it? =/
Doesn't the army sound good though? They wouldn't even have to fight, everyone would just bow down to their good looks!!
Yeah, I always feel like I have too many dolls and some of them just don't fit into my storylines and how the rest of the dolls look. I have a few that need new face ups. I have a feeling that if I just sent them off, they would fit in better, but I'm not all that sure.
