We spent three days in Las Vegas at the Excalibur, a medieval-themed hotel/casino.  We only spent $35-40 gambling; nothing kills a vacation like money sorrows.  The Excalibur has the Tournament of Kings, an awesome dinner show with pyrotechnics, jousting/swordplay, sing-alongs and eating with your hands.  Also, the shops have a dragon theme.  Y'all ( Read more... )

Love the post... isn't vegas scary/sad off the strip?
We went in April for Dave's coworker's wedding. We cabbed it to the chapel (total Elivs-o-Rama in itself) and misjudged how long it'd take us to get there, so arrived extrememly early.
I looked around: Bob's Bailbond's, Jim Bob's Pawnshop and Bailbonds, Billy Joe Jim Bob's Adult Arcade, Pawnshop and Bailbonds... after about 2 minutes of that I'm like, call a cab Dave, take us anywhere but here. So we went to the Stratosphere for a quick drink and bout of vertigo in the spinning restaurant.
The time before this trip to Vega$, we also stayed at the Excalibur. My recommendation-- go off season and get a turret room. It had a huge tub bath the size of a hot tub. Luxor is fun once or twice. I wanna go to Mandalay Bay next time. I guess we'd be going off-season again, then. ($$$)

I'm always surprised by the stark contrast between *this* side of the street and *that* side. It sounds like there's some nepotism and/or inbreeding among Nevada's bail bondsmen.:)

Turret room, off-season...got it! Mandalay Bay has great shopping. My favorite thing at the Luxor is a game called "Drumscape". You play a full set of drumpads with a choice of about 20 rock songs. I went with Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark at The Moon". Angela is a Skee-Ball queen.

*Hugs!*
