[ History ] :
Here!

[ Personality ] :
Godric Gryffindor is said to be one of the "four most brilliant witches and wizards of (his) time", a testament to his magical ability - and, perhaps, to his brains. Although he could never compare to the mind of Rowena Ravenclaw, it's obvious that Godric is, to some extent, smarter than what people might imagine. He has commen sense and an ability to put his mind to things and come up with a solution no matter how long it might take - determination being another strength of his in true Gryffindor spirit. If he hadn't been smart it is unlikely that he would have been able to have survived as a teacher at Hogwarts, nor would he have been the one to come up with the solution to the placing of students into houses.

Godric prized bravery, determination and strength of heart above anything else, and it's a reflection of his own strengths and values. As the best duelist of his time it's obvious that Godric was proud, strong and brave, known for his valour. Furthermore, the choice of a Lion for his house animal compliments his choice and is probably a further reflection of his own personal strengths; though he isn't the smartest or, perhaps, the most cunning of men, he is brave and true to his heart and that is a strength that many people live their lives without.

It's also more than obvious that Godric has a big heart, welcoming to any and all. It was this open heart that lead to the tension between himself and his best friend, Salazar Slytherin - his belief that everyone should be able to use magic, no matter who their family were, leant itself to the breakup of their friendship and Salazar leaving the school for good. Though this would have hurt Godric, he remained the most open minded about magical talent and the most in favour of allowing muggle-born students into Hogwarts, despite the strain and damage it left between himself and Salazar.

Godric is everything that a true Gryffindor is seen to be; brave, chivalrous and open-minded with more kindness than some people might come to expect of him. Though he has great strength when it comes to using a blade, his true strenghs lie in his heart; he is honest and warm to those who earn his trust and polite to those that haven't. No one could ever accuse Godric Gryffindor of caring too little, but it would be easy to suggest that he cares far too much.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths; As the physical embodiment of a true Gryffindor, Godric's strengths lie in his bravery and chivalry; he will stand up for what he believes in and he will be a strong defender of what is right. Furthermore, although he may not be as smart as his other founders it's obvious that he has some brains - he was, after all, the person that came up with the solution to how to sort students into houses once the school had been founded. He was also described as the best duelist of his time, attesting to his strength with a sword.

Weaknesses; Like all the Gryffindors that came after him, Godric's weaknesses lie in his desire to protect and his trustfulness. He will care deeply for those he meets and he will grant them trust quite easily, which could be unfortunate if they decide to break his trust. Being born in the wild moor also lends Godric a less than perfect set of public manners, though he's been working on them.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Hogwarts founder, man.

[ Sample ] :
[ He awakes feeling cold and wet - as though he has taken an unlikely dip in the lake. Confusion reigns for a moment before he turns to take in his surroundings - and only then does he realise how completely out of place he is. His hand moves straight to his left side, his fingers touching the hilt of his sword (more for reassurance than anything else) before he reaches into his sleeve, drawing out a short piece of wood. ]

This is no magic I have ever seen.

[ He's never been transported without his own consent before, and it was certainly a magical mystery that he would have to retell to Rowenea - when he found his way back to Hogwarts, of course. His brow furrows in thought for a moment as he considers what to do, and then he smiles to himself, shaking his head. There will be people around, surely - though it looks grand and strange, this was a city; obviously so. There was always a kindly person to be found in a great town - he was sure that was how he had met Helga. ]

No fear, friends. I shall be home soon.

[ Not that he assumed the ladies would worry about him too much - he had been in far worse scrapes than this - but their bond had been tightened since Salazar had left them. They had huddled close in their pain and become closer because of it - but that was not something Godric wanted to dwell on. Instead, he worked his way down towards the city, daring to hope. ]

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] : PB is Aragorn (aka Viggo Mortensen as Arragon in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, if that's okaay).
