Why is it that the creative muse that inspires my compositions only seems to strike at night just as I lay down for bed? It seldom hits during the day when I'm actually able to write music. Only just as I'm trying to fall asleep.

Of course, it never comes up with anything simple, either. Tonight, for example, it's Bach fugues.
