Which would be good, but I seem to have this irrational fear of LARPers, especially when gathered in large numbers. I know I should get over it, it's probably the goth equivalent of being racist or homophobic.

See I was right. Just like racism, I'd lumped everyone together because of my ignorance. I did attend a civil war re-enactment at a park in Hull once. It was very exciting, muskets going off everywhere! I should make the effort to attend more, perhaps I'd become more tolerant and accepting?

My dad used to have a deerstalker when I was a small child. I used to sneak up behind him when he was sitting down and untie the knot on top so that the earflaps would fall down!

I've been wearing mine flaps down, ribbon securely knotted beneath my chin. Very fetching I think you'll agree.

I have a hat with big furry earflaps. :-) I like it because it stops me getting earache when it's cold, but I do feel a bit silly if I tie it up under my chin...

My flaps are quite light(?!!!?) so if theres a really good gust, my ears get chilly. The knot under the chin is an absolute necessity.
