stupid distance ed

Jun 27, 2006 20:32

Seriously, who uses VHS anymore? I mean really. Distance Ed course sent me two VHS tapes to watch so I hauled out the VCR (circa 1980) from the cabin in Wiltondale. Hooked it up today to watch the tapes and it wouldn't play. Luckily my Aunt Roxanne has a VCR, must've been one of the last ones ever made since it looks pretty new. So I watch a couple ( Read more... )

*gasp* Oh no! Cheryl is the staunchest defender of VHS that I know!

*starts music*

Cheryl: I'm a little bit VHS
Brian: I'm a little bit DVD
Cheryl: I'm a little bit Town and Placentia
Brian: With a little bit of Gros Morne in my soul!

Haha! Most awesome.

As for defending things, that will pass in due time. She'll defend her VHS until she has none left of any use. I will defend DVD's against the onslaught of Blu-Ray and HD since I just bought a new DVD burner but in due time I will sell out to the next generation of technology too. We can't hold on forever.

"the onslaught of Blu-Ray and HD"

I don't even know what those things are! *whimpers* I'm going to join an order of monks if technology doesn't stop changing all the time. If computers were still the way they were in 1997, I'd still be somewhat decent at working with them! *was a total whiz at Windows 95*

I think I know what HD is, but on Blu-Ray I am totally lost.

When was the last time you used a DVD? It's all digital memory now, stereo's/TV's/etc with USB ports or some other device now. Hard-drive space is so cheap now, why bother with bulky disks?

Almost everything I watch is off my computer now.

It is the devil, but I did one before and it was super easy so I figured i'd take another.

The business one is okay but the POSC has a HUGE F-ING WORKLOAD.
And i have to write a paper using 10 books or something?! How the F*@# do I do that living in Rocky Harbour!?! OI!

I've told you before ... VHS is my doting wife, DVD is my mistress. DVD gives me the quick, easy enjoyment that I need, but VHS has stood behind me all these years and took care of me when I was down.

I noticed that dog when I was there. He barks a lot. I used to see him through the bathroom window and wonder if he could see me.

Don't think he was barking at you. He was probably barking at some birds, or a cloud, or the dog-version of the color green. Who knows?
