(the first half last year was full of suckage and with the recession, i was assuming american studios to prefer using toronto as their platform) as it turns out, it looks pretty good! can't wait to see 'the road' among other things.

I know you work your ass off, but I'm still jealous of your job -- I really enjoyed my few years on the fringes of the movie world, and miss it during festival time.

big film fests are strange beasts and i know i'll miss them too when i stop going. i know i'm lucky to be able to work in this industry, but sometimes i'm completely turned off by films that i can't bring myself to watch any. the balance between commerce and art of it is both facinating and frustrating, isn't it? (i suppose football clubs/leagues share some of the same kind of delicate equilibrium) i'd like to get into producing too, but i'm still waiting to find that someone i could back through the whole ridiculous mess that is a film production. we'll see.

gigi doesn't seem to be up to his best which is a bit worrisome. incidentally, i ventured into rm's thread and saw a couple of fanboys sayign the same thing about iker. hmmm.
