Heh, the wiki player stories was my first encounter with people sharing what went on in their games (I never even gave the Exchange a chance...) and I remember seeing that person's many contributions. The ages kind of annoyed me, but the author usually had the most interesting story there. If you ever figure out who it was/is, let me know! ;)
Hi! Nice to meet you too! :) Had a little look on your page - you got some cool stuff!
It's true, normally they do have the most interesting story. Although, it does get a bit repetitive with the '___, ____, ____ were happy.' and '____ hated ____.' It's always in a very similar format too... and they never sign with a name! Maybe the place to start would be some kind of list of top wiki editors...
Welcome to LJ! :) There comes a time in every Simmer's career when he or she must create a blog. Or post to the Wiki, apparently. ;) I didn't realize there was an active community, there.
I'm not familiar with the Wiki's stories, but I've encountered that style in other places. I admire the effort that these Simmers put into their games, but I just don't have the patience to do it, myself. Also, I find that allowing my Sims to guide gameplay is much more fun than imposing a storyline on them: their ideas are usually more creative than my own. ;)
On that note, I'd encourage you to continue to unclench your iron fist! :)
Thank you! :) I'm a lot better with letting sims do their thing (more of an iron-hand-clutching-a-jar gesture) but I still find myself controlling about 23/24 hours of their day and letting them mess around a little bit. Hopefully with my new legacy it will be a bit more... unrestrained. The Wiki isn't terribly active, but there are some real gems on there. Whenever I'm looking up a sim for their stats or whatnot, I'll always have a little peruse on their player stories. Have a good day!
