Dude, Dave Chappelle saying nigger is COMPLETELY different. He says it in jokes, he says it in parodym he says it in satire. Michael Richards just spilled a hate filled racist rant on stage. It's not the word. It's the context. On top of everything else Dave Chappelle is a black man. You know when he says the word he's not saying it in a racist way, because he is a part of the race that the term has been attached too. I've heard white comedians use the N word. I've heard George Carlin say it several terms. No one got offended, because he didn't use it in an offensive way. Screaming at black members of your audience, calling them niggers, and telling them that they should "Shut up because years ago we would have tied you to a tree and shoved a fork up your ass" Is completely different from Dave Chappelle doing a comedy skit about a white family who has the last name "Nigger" are not in any way the same.
You're right absolutely. Even I felt very uptight about his unbelievable foot-in-mouth when I watched what he did. But my point isn't about how he did it. It's about how now people are stepping forward saying that the N word shouldn't be used in comedy anymore and derogatory comments related to that word shouldn't be allowed
