Random things - picture post

I saw this display at Publix the other day, and was impressed by how long it must have taken to build.  The photo doesn't do justice to the enormous size - the stack of cases it sits on is about 5 feet tall, and the pumpkin itself was probably another 10 to 12 feet tall.  I wonder how long it will take them to sell all that orange soda later on.  ( Read more... )

that halloween soda display is amazing in both its scope and its blatant consumerism.

You're right, that display screams American Extravagence, doesn't it? Sure, people are losing their homes right and left, but don't worry, there is plenty of soda for sale!

Baxter looks like Peter Gibbons, the cat I should have adopted and who still haunts me.

He had me hypnotized! I even turned a glass dish over him because I was so afraid he would reanimate and try to run. I checked on him ten million times, and Charles declared me a weirdo.

i would not believe it was dead unitl i watched it burn in a fire and scattered the ashes some place very, very far away. it was totally gonna reanimate and kill you in the night.

I love that your cat knows his pillow :)

Were you around when that fire happened? That must have been a three dinger at least. Sometimes it takes a few months for the insurance money to come in, I think. There was this house near our dog's groomer that looked that that for at least six months, and the last time we went it was finally gone.

I wouldn't have picked that spider up no matter what!

We did hear a lot of sirens one night, and I said it sounded like they were in our neighborhood, but when I went outside I didn't smell smoke or anything. Maybe the wind was blowing the other direction. I would be so mad if a house next door or across the street was burned down for 6 months...seems like it would really suck to have to see it out your window, you know?

Oh, I did NOT pick up that spider. Charles did that, and even though he isn't askeered of spiders, he said that one creeped him out.

Guaranteed:

1. That spider is from outer space.

2. It has eaten at least one toddler, two kangaroos and a pony.
