There are not enough eyerolls in the world to cover it

Over the past year or two, I feel like I have become a very different person than I was the other 37-38 years.  I am not sure yet if this is a good or bad thing.  The other day I let a woman have it in the bakery of our grocery store, and while she deserved it, today I wonder if I went too far?  Did I go far enough?  Should I have always let every ( Read more... )

Yanno... once you've said "Oh MY GAWD....." there isn't a lot left to say.

So I won't.

Just hang in there-this bizarre shit sure makes for great stories. (Hell to live through though....)

if it makes you feel any better, your neighborhood is better thanmine, in which no one feels any qualms about chucking thier 40s out the car window to smash on someone else's driveway or mailbox or whathaveyou, and where the garbage and recycling men don't bother to pick up anything they drop, especially anything breakable or that could hurt someone/thing if stepped on or consumed. and gunshots happen about once or twice a month because there's still very mucha ghetto vibe down certain streets despite the fact that we don't actually live IN the ghetto or anything. do you know your neighbors' landlord? maybe you cuold notify them instread of calling the police - maybe just an simple anonymous letter or sometihng ( ... )

good for you for telling that woman off. i yelled at some mormon kids in a parking lot once and i was proud of myself afterward. i HATE holding my tongue when i see something really wrong going on. i've even been less of a doormat with my customers. there's always the chance that someone will turn it around on you, but i think most people are so shocked when a stranger speaks up that they forget to open their own mouths. she probably thought of a lot of great things to say when she got home.

sorry about your aunt that had the stroke. hopefully she will make more comebacks. if she can't express herself you might want to get her some colored pencils or fat crayons (easier to hold). i learned in my social services class that they can be very helpful for people who aren't able to communicate.

OMG Lisa I cannot believe what you've gone through with your Aunt. I sould think that flipping out at some idiot at a grocery store was not so bad...even if you haven't been through so much lately. I sure pray your Aunt continues to get better. You're so right that listening to doctors about pulling the plug should be given some time because miracles do happen...more than doctors let you know.

I don't think you changed for the worse at all regarding letting go and ripping someone a new butthole. Maybe you needed to be able to let go and not hold things in or be the perfect Georgia girl. You're pretty cool and it's always nice to see you're human. I like the way your family handles things too. Drama can be exhausting.

Many hugs to you!
