Wookie playing chess, would be like....the end of the world or something. The man has lots of guts, and ambition, but the brain capacity attention span or patience for a game of chess, simply wasn't dealt in his deck of cards. =o/
I wouldn't even risk a game of Scrabble on the boy...I think "Go Fish" might even be pushing it.

Do you happen to remember anything about it in the news a couple weeks ago? I never saw it in the papers, and since I don't watch TV, I didn't know if it even made SF news or not....just curious.
I dunno... Knitting and quilting can be dangerous for an amateur (especially impulsive ones). Why don't you just restrict him to nice football games or something. lol
I have a friend who got one of those paragliders after seeing people on the beach do it. He took an instructional course, and then managed to chop off the tips of his fingers on the propeller.

He sounds like an interesting fellow. I guess it wouldn't suit him to take up knitting or chess or something, but we can only hope.
